Celebrating sameness and difference

Typically we long  for our soulmate, our emotional twin. Being so alike…

Yet, there is such beauty in being open to differences. For example, when were you last curious about a different culinary flavor of food, or alternate music from your “go to”, or shared a fascinating conversation with someone of a different nation or religion.

When can we celebrate differences as a wonderful expression of how many people are unique?  When do differences actually improve our world and personal lives?

Of course some differences are not compatible: beliefs about abusing a spouse and children, beliefs that it is okay to steal or kill, beliefs that one color skin is subordinate or subservient to another.

But other differences can be entertaining, expanding, humbling in all the right ways, enlightening as well.

So contemplate this: how can I celebrate my child’s or my partner’s or my neighbor’s differences?
