Parenting Beyond Trauma

Even if you are depressed, angry, wounded, abandoned or harmed in any way, if you are a parent, send your children off in the morning with warm and healthy food in their mouths and bellies, hugs and kisses, and words of enthusiasm about their ability to learn, help, grow, believe in their hard working capable selves, and eager to hear about their day at pick up time.

You will be less depressed when you hear yourself giving good to those other victims of your trauma and abuse…yep…they too suffer when you have suffered. You will have provided good to others and, for a moment, you will have broken a cycle of dread and woe for the morning and perhaps longer.

Any time you can show up for those who need your healthiest loving moments, you also declare to yourself that you will not be defeated by what you suffered for ever!
